Shan Masood’s unbeaten 88 kept Pakistan in the contest as they reached 199 for 3 at stumps on day two of the first Test against West Indies in Tarouba, trailing by 112 runs.
Masood, batting on 88 off 137 balls with 11 fours, shared a 155-run stand with Imam-ul-Haq, who made 63.
Pakistan’s innings began poorly, with opener Azan Awais bowled by Kemar Roach for a nine-ball duck.
Salman Ali Agha was unbeaten on nought off 9 balls when the day’s play concluded.
West Indies had been bowled out for 311 in their first innings, with Mohammad Ali picking up four wickets for Pakistan.
Pakistan will look to close the 112-run deficit when play resumes on day three.
