India lost two early wickets on the first morning of the second Test against Sri Lanka in Colombo, moving to 66 for 2 after 17 overs after opting to bat first.
Yashasvi Jaiswal fell for 45, edging Asitha Fernando onto the stumps, while KL Rahul was dismissed earlier for 18, bowled by Lahiru Kumara.
Devdutt Padikkal, who hit a century in the first Test at Galle, has continued batting after surviving two dropped catches in the slips.
The main talking point of the morning was the Test debut of Saransh Jain, the Madhya Pradesh off-spinner brought in for Kuldeep Yadav.
India carry a 1-0 series lead into the match after their 165-run win at Galle, meaning a positive result in Colombo would clinch the series.
