Spider-Man: Brand New Day has already surpassed the Rs 100 crore net mark in India, just two days after its theatrical release, per figures published by trade portal Sacnilk. The Tom Holland-starrer, helmed by director Destin Daniel Cretton and released by Sony Pictures, hit Indian screens on Thursday, July 30, 2026, ahead of its global rollout on July 31.
The film’s opening day haul stood at Rs 60.60 crore net, with a gross of Rs 71.51 crore, a number trade analysts flagged as one of the standout Hollywood openings in India this year.
Collections eased on Day 2 to Rs 49.35 crore net, down 18.6% from the first day, though the film still ran across 16,902 shows and held an occupancy of 64.8% through the day.
Adding the two days together gives a net total of Rs 109.95 crore, putting the film past the coveted Rs 100 crore mark in record time for the franchise in India.
The film opened in English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada and Malayalam versions across Indian cinemas, a rollout strategy designed to draw viewers across multiple regional-language markets.
How the film performs over the weekend will determine whether it can maintain momentum into its second week, something trade trackers say is critical for any Hollywood release in India.
Multiplex chains reported houseful shows for evening and night slots in metro cities including Mumbai, Delhi and Bengaluru through the first two days of release.
The film rounds out Tom Holland’s trilogy of solo Spider-Man features made in collaboration between Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios.
The film also stars Zendaya and Sadie Sink reprising their roles alongside Tom Holland, with the returning cast a key draw for opening-weekend audiences in India.
Trade analysts note that Thursday releases have become common practice for major Hollywood titles in India, allowing an extra day of collections before the traditional Friday-to-Sunday opening weekend window.
